Baking Bread

I started Turkey Chili in the crockpot yesterday morning only to realize that I had no cornbread. So the next best thing? Homemade honey wheat rolls!

Here they are just after we rolled them up (rising and waiting for a hot oven), then the breadmaker that did all the work for us and the rolls rising under the kitchen towels, and after they were baked...



And what could possibly be MORE fun than making and eating rolls? Why, playing with the dough, of course!!





And just because they're cute... (Rickson in the first, Calli in the second. Can't get them BOTH to smile and hold still at the same time, after all!)



Then Calli dug out this velcro calendar thing I had stashed in the closet and filled out the info for today. (Except she put Thursday instead of Tuesday. That was fixed in the second pic.)





They were excited for the first day of December for many reasons... (1) It's just all that much closer to Christmas! (2) They got to open up the first door on their count-down-to-Christmas calendar thingies that have a piece of chocolate inside! and (3) We start reading one Christmas book per night from our Santa bag!
