Chicky Update

I posted about Grammy's chickens back in February but apparently never updated. So here's an update.

They grew. LOL! That may seem like an obvious fact, but since we only make it out to Grammy's house about once a month it seemed like those darn chickens grew FAST! I have pictures somewhere (probably on my old phone) of their between-baby-and-adult phase so I'll have to find those. But this is where they lived for a bit until their coop was built:

Then Grammy and the kids upcycled some of the materials from the gazebo over their hot tub (which was falling apart) and made this:

And boy, do they love weeds!

The kids obviously think they're great and love feeding them and watching their funny chicken behaviour. Hopefully in a few months we'll have some fresh eggs!

Fence, Concrete, Early Birthday Gift!

Saturday, May 8, 2010

The wind blew down a section of our fence recently so we spent a few days working on that...

I posted before about the concrete being removed from the backyard. Here's what it looked like before and after...

This was the morning they poured the concrete...

I need to go snap a picture now that it's done, but here's the little handprints we put into it!

Calli's birthday is coming up on the 19th and we'll be spending 3 days in the city in a gorgeous jacuzzi room at the Peppermill. She wants to take Lillia with us but she was concerned about how she would transport her, so Grammanater bought her a beautiful carrying case that will be PERFECT! She was allowed to open it early and she was one very happy almost-8-year-old!

Here we are at the tippy top looking out over the animal mountain...

My cute little critter!!

The view. Daddy is way down there. He's a chicken. LOL!

Oh, look! There he is again! Hehe!

You can just BARELY see Calli's head toward the bottom. She rode alone.

They played on the playcenter thingy...
