A Day of Water!

Wow, yesterday was one long blur!

Going fishing didn't happen last night like we'd originally planned. Grammy had the cable guy out at her place because gophers have been eating through their cables. Plus I was helping my mom with her computer and had to go shopping for some dinner stuff. So we decided to just spend the evening relaxing and go today...

But with our schedule, the earliest we get up is 10am. By the time we actually got to the pond, it was closer to noon and super hot. It's a nice little place and all the kids had fun casting, but that was it. No luck with the fishies. (Though we did see several really huge shadows cruising around in the water.) Saw some kind of muskrat thing and lots of ducks - even one mama duck with her duckling.

After giving up on that pursuit, we got read to go swimming at the indoor pool. It was fun, as it always is, and the water was actually WARM this time so I wasn't going around with chattering teeth. LOL! Calli is a total fish which is amazing considering she couldn't swim to save her life in May and now she's going off the diving board like she's been doing it forever! Rickson loves the water as well and I'm going to need to get him into lessons the second he's old enough. The kid has no fear! Calli made friends with a little boy who had a big floaty shape thing that she's always wanted to play with so she had a ton of fun with that.

After we changed, we headed out to MIL's for dinner. Daddy made delicious spaghetti with hot sausage, Grammy made yummy garlic bread, and I made a ceasar salad. Rickson slept most of the time we were out there and Calli played with the boys and watched Brittany play World of Warcraft.

Once home, we were so wiped out that we zoned out on the TV for a bit, then I read a few chapters of Wizard's Castle to Calli while Rickson played in her room. Calli headed off to bed and Rickson and I did too, after reading his tractor book and telling them goodnight. Daddy needed to stay up in order to stick to his schedule and he apparently watched Batman Begins.

Not HAVING to get up this morning felt really good. Today was spent doing nearly nothing productive. Some laundry and dishes. Too much TV. Calli played outside. Painted our nails after Daddy left for work, Rickson included - blue and green; very manly. Calli talked my head off about her friends. Off to bed soon after more Wizard's Castle. Need to try moving our sleep & wake-up times back a little as Daddy is switching from graveyards to swings in September.
